Cripping Culture: A Live Poetry Slam and Art Show (May 26, 6:30-8:30, Parnassus Cafe)

This is a reminder about ASUW Student Disability Commission’s first ever
Disability Poetry Slam and Art Show: Cripping Culture! We are excited to
bring / build community and celebrate disability through poetry and
performance at a live performance/open mic event.

Come and enjoy a series of performances by a talented group of artists
and bring your own art to share with others! This is an event intended
to celebrate all kinds of disability, art, and artists (and audiences
too!) This means: all types of performance/ expression is encouraged.
So— feel free to share a poem, sing a song, play an instrument, display
an art piece etc.

We will also have baked goods from Solstice Cafe!

WHAT: Cripping Culture: A Live Poetry Slam and Art Show
WHERE: Parnassus Café (basement of Art building on UW campus)
WHEN: Thursday May 26th 6:30-8:30pm
WHO: Sponsored by ASUW Students with Disabilities Commission / Q-Center
WHY: Build community and connection, participate in Disability Awareness
HOW: Want to perform? Just get up there and do it!

Parnassus, featuring local artists John Heart Jackie, Shenandoah Davis,
and Tom Tafejian, presented by Rainy Dawg Radio!

Participate in any Disability Awareness Week event and you will be
entered into a prize drawing at the celebration dinner at Schultzy’s,
