Haiku Workshop at Literary Festival Tomorrow!!!

This FRIDAY, the Writer’s Block Literary Festival will be happening on campus in Savery 138 and 139 starting at 3:30p!

We’ve got a great line-up of events and professionals, from a flash-fiction workshop to a fairy tale improv performance!

Here’s a quick look at one of the festival’s event – a favorite from last year!

Haiku Targets: Myths and Realities

Kigo, kireji, shasei? What do these terms have to do with haiku?

Come and learn the essential techniques of haiku, and discover how you can improve your longer poetry by better understanding haiku essentials. And no, 5-7-5 isn’t one of them.

Learns the myths and realities of haiku poetry, and see how you can make your own haiku hit the target. Join master haiku teacher Michael Dylan Welch on March 5th at 7:00 in Savery 139 for a lively, hands-on workshop including discussion, writing, inspiration, and more (with copious handouts).
