Directors Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise updated Romeo and Juliet to mid-century Manhattan where Puerto Rican and Irish gangs squared off on the mean streets.

Stephen Sondheim put words to Leonard Bernstein’s amazing score and Jerome Robbins choreographed. Starring Natalie Wood, Richard Beymer, Russ Tamblyn, Rita Moreno, and George Chakiris. Winner of an incredible ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
