UW World Series Performance:: Puerto Plata!:: Saturday, March 14 @ 8pm

13 Mar

Puerto Plata is the name of a remarkable ensemble of musicians who pair classic Afro-Dominican guitar traditions of son and bolero with the energy and vigor of contemporary bachata and merengue. Puerto Plata is also the nickname given to 83-year-old Jose Cobles, the ensemble’s lead singer, who has been charming audiences with his heartfelt and spirited performances for more than six decades. Together with second “voice” and guitarist extraordinaire Edilio Paredes, Cobles and his band will have you swaying and dancing in your seats with their warm, melodic, and downright infectious music. A not-to-be-missed event!
