The City of Seattle’s Office of Film & Music, a local government office dedicated to facilitating and promoting the film and music industry in the City of Seattle, seeks a part-time Intern. This position requires a minimum six-month commitment and 20 hours a week (schedule is negotiable). An additional three-month tenure is possible. Prior background in film or music not required, but you must have strong communication, writing, and organizational/research skills, as well as being self motivated. As an intern you will become a member of the Film + Music team and be responsible for a host of ongoing duties as well as some special projects. In return, the office will introduce you to the local film and music industries, provide a $400/month stipend, and, if deserved, provide a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship. Students interested in the film and music industry are encouraged to apply.

Detailed Job Responsibilities Include
– Composing the Film + Music newsletter and blog
– Assisting with film permitting
– Updating the Office’s website
– Conducting Internet research on media and industry news
– Aiding and hosting industry networking events
– Perpetuation of the internship program
– Visiting film industry leaders on location in Seattle
– Database maintenance
– Providing post-production follow-up
– Distribution of promotional materials
